Development Manager

Working alongside Southstar’s development team, Wes Gentry helps guide the planning and development of the Lone Star redevelopment project. As Land Development Manager, he works closely with consultants, municipalities and project stakeholders to design and construct this transformative mixed-use destination, helping bring the project’s vision to life from planning and entitlement through construction. Wes brings more than 12 years of experience in land development, having worked on communities ranging from small urban infill projects all the way up to large-scale regional developments of 40,000 acres. His background in planning and entitlement, combined with a collaborative approach and the ability to adapt as projects evolve, helps keep developments moving forward while responding to changing needs and opportunities. A graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Wes is passionate about creating places where people can live, grow and build memories for generations. He believes the best communities are shaped by listening to both the land and the people they serve, resulting in places that are as thoughtful as they are enduring. Originally from Sulphur, Louisiana, Wes enjoys spending time with his wife, Elizabeth, their two children, Mary Cate and Gabriel, and their pets, Lady and Noodles. Whether he’s running, tackling a project in the yard or building furniture for his home, he’s always creating something, even if his woodworking projects don’t always go exactly as planned.
